Step Spikes on the front of a 2wd buggy appear very rugged and capable of turning inside of just about anything in wet surface conditions. When dirt sticks to the tires, these style tires dig hard with their dual and step spike construction providing two layers of rubber to bury into deep rooted conditions. The square and bottom block is positioned 90 degrees to the surface carcass and is a platform for the cone type pin which bends and flexes with surface terrain.
The pins terminate very early and near the sidewall, so drivability is easier in 180-degree corners. A very small rib is placed on the sidewall to help control flexibility and provides a finishing touch to the appearance of the classic front tire combination.
